A driven professional with 9 years’ experience in life sciences and an interdisciplinary background in business development, venture capital investing, management consulting, scientific & clinical research. With a vision to create value in healthcare and life sciences, Georgios leverages his versatile experience to advance medical innovations, always having in mind who the final receiver is, the patient.
Georgios is currently the Director of US Business Development at RTsafe, a medical technology company offering solutions to enhance the accuracy, safety and effectiveness of radiotherapy interventions for brain tumor patients. As a Venture Partner, Georgios is also sourcing healthcare investment opportunities at a $100M+ multi-stage venture capital fund, VU Venture Partners, covering areas such as digital health, telehealth and drug therapeutics.
Being a certified PMP project manager, he previously worked for 5 years in strategy and management consulting, where he led projects of ~$1M in total value, managing cross-functional teams of consultants, programmers and MDs. His work focused on Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) generating real-world data evidence on CNS disorders based on electronic health records and claims databases analyses for clinical-stage biopharma clients.
Georgios conducted his Ph.D. research in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge, with his scientific work resulting in the elimination of a major 60-year drawback of a method assessing brain haemodynamics. He has 37 scientific publications and 860+ citations, while his research set the basis for a $170K+ NIH research grant.
Having a passion to support entrepreneurship and professional development, he serves as a mentor and career coach at leading accelerators and business schools globally, including MassChallenge, MIT Enterprise Forum, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and Northeastern University.
